The only other alternative would be to disable via group policy. If this is set, on a fresh install Tor is un-attainable and will never show in the UI. When the menu pops up saying the application wont work, and it asks if you want to delete the shortcut, press ok. Go to 'all apps' on the start menu and left click on 'Start Tor Browser'. That would mean putting in a new entry like this: Delete the folder with the tor files, aswell as the desktop shortcut, and make sure to check your recycling bin to completely erase it. Another possible way to disable this would be to make an entry on either your router or your local machine for the /etc/hosts file (on Windows C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts) and make non-routable. I understand that the desire is to not even see that option. Once that is disabled, you might need to restart the browserĬhanging that won’t remove the executable though.
